The Club shall be
called Offley Angling Club.
Aims and Objectives
- To promote the club and improve as much as possible the surroundings and accessibility for all club members
- To encourage and assist juniors to become involved in the sport of fishing.
- To ensure a duty of care and fairness to all club members.
- To provide fishing
rights to be enjoyed equally by all members regardless of gender, age, colour,
creed, sexual orientation, or religion.
Membership
- Membership of the Club shall be at the discretion of the committee.
- Committee reserves the right to refuse membership if for good reason.
- New members will be considered on receipt of completed membership application an uploaded photo and payment of the relevant subscription.
- The annual subscription for the ensuing year shall be determined by members at the Annual General Meeting.
- All members shall agree to the terms and conditions of the club’s constitution and rules, and by joining the club shall be deemed to agree to the constitution and rules.
Memberships
- Junior - A person under 16 years of age
- Adult – A person between 17 & 64 years of age
- Senior
- A person over 65 years of age
Running of the Club
The Club will be managed by a committee consisting of the following officers:
- Chairperson
- Vice Chairperson
- Treasure
- Secretary
and general committee members.
Club
rules.
· All anglers to be in possession of a current OAC membership card & a valid EA rod licence and produce them when requested to do so by an officer of the club.
· Children aged 16 and under must be
always accompanied by an adult (aged over 18).
- Please be considerate to other anglers, no derogatory or abusive
behaviour will not be tolerated.
- Please take all litter and discarded equipment home with you and be
considerate of the surroundings and wildlife.
- No fires.
- Fish are not to be removed or transferred between the ponds.
- Fishing is permitted from dawn to dusk.
- No fishing during booked matches.
- Fishing from designated pegs only.
- Maximum of 2 rods per angler.
- Never leave rod unattended.
- All anglers to be in possession of a landing net and pad.
- All nets to be dried thoroughly before use.
- Keep nets are allowed with fish to be released within 5 hours.
- No Barbed hooks with the maximum size of 10.·
- No braided line.·
- All leaders and feeders must be free running.
Any angler found in breach of club rules will be subject to disciplinary action which could result in a ban from membership of the club.
The duties of the Committee
- To manage the running of the Club on behalf of the members.
- To make decisions based on a simple majority vote, with the Chairperson having a casting vote.
- To support members who volunteer to represent the committee as Club Bailiffs.
- The Committee will manage the keeping of accurate club accounts through the Treasurer.
- The Committee will apply all profits accruing from the Club’s activities for the benefit of the Club.
- The committee are responsible for keeping accurate minutes of any of the Club’s meetings.
The Annual General Meeting
- The Annual General Meeting will be held in April each year.
- At least twenty-one days’ notice will be given to members.
- All members have the right to vote at the AGM.
The agenda will include.
- A report from the committee.
- Treasurer’s report and the year’s accounts.
- Resignation of the current committee.
- Election of the committee for the coming year.
Extraordinary General
Meeting
EGMs are called upon if at least a
third of the club's members wishes to amend a club rule, amend the constitution,
or discuss any other important, urgent matters which cannot wait until the AGM.
